Leadership Anne Arundel is pleased to partner with regional Leadership organizations to present an educational webinar about the about efforts to create a new Chesapeake Bay National Recreation Area (CNRA), a National Park for the Chesapeake Bay.

Work is underway to designate a collection of new and existing parks and public lands throughout the Chesapeake Bay area as the new CNRA. The designation of this natural wonder, and our nation’s largest estuary, will bring significant economic, environmental, and cultural benefits to our communities and will raise the visibility of the Bay as a valuable resource, which will encourage further protection of the Bay, create sustainable jobs, increase private investment in this region, add new sites to access the Bay, and link all CNRA park sites with an inviting, common visitor exploration experience.

Guests will hear from coalition members, including representatives from the Chesapeake Conservancy and the National Parks Conservation Association, who will share details about the draft legislation, which has been introduced, and some ways folks can get involved as the process to shape this new National Park continues.
