The Conversations on Leadership with Griff Hall series was created to provide a deeper dive into challenging leadership topics for LAA Alumni and the community at large. The first program in the series will explore Ethical Leadership with Captain Rick Rubel, Military Professor of Ethics, U.S. Naval Academy.

LAA alumni and facilitator Griff Hall will introduce our featured guest and provide additional insight and opportunities for further discussion and follow up.

Join us for for a robust interactive discussion on Ethical Leadership or "why do good people do wrong?" with Captain Rick Rubel. Rick will talk about Ethical Leadership from both the organizational view as well as individual leadership. In the organization perspective, his premise is that our obligation as leaders is not just to complete the task, but must also include making our people better. In that context, he will discuss the moral leader, as well as the moral follower. He will explore how we develop our own character as leaders as well as the character of our people. The discussion will be very interactive and will include a breakout workgroup to discuss important questions in some detail.

Rick Rubel has taught Ethics and Leadership at the Naval Academy for 21 years. He has written two text books as well as his own book on Character Remediation, several articles for Journals and encyclopedias. He gives talks domestically and internationally about organizational and individual moral decision making to both corporate off-sites and educator groups.
