NLA Application

Thank you for your interest in the Leadership Anne Arundel Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA).

Approximately 20 -25 people are selected each year to participate in NLA.  Tuition for participants is paid through grants and support for local businesses and organizations. NLA participants are selected based on their sincere concern for the county, and on their commitment to make a difference in their community.

Candidates will be confirmed during the first week of January.

NLA participants are selected based on their sincere concern for the county, their current engagement in underserved neighborhoods in Anne Arundel County and on their commitment to make a difference in their community.

Please share your past experience, present engagement and future vision for supporting underserved neighborhoods in Anne Arundel County by answering the following questions:

The Neighborhood Leadership Academy takes place on one Saturday of each month for a full day from 10:00am until 4:00pm, starting in January and completing in June 2026 (click here to review the full schedule). Since there are only six sessions total, full attendance at each session is critical for graduation.

Do you anticipate any conflicts or barriers to your full participation in all NLA sessions? If yes, please explain.

NLA is provided at no cost to participants thanks to generous grant support. Income data is required by granting partners and is used for reporting purposes.

Leadership Anne Arundel understands that childcare, transportation and language can present barriers to furthering your leadership journey. While we can’t promise assistance in these areas at this time, we are working to develop partnerships in these areas that may be able to provide support moving forward.
