Leadership Anne Arundel changed the course of my life while making a measurable and visible improvement in our community.
My wife and I chose Anne Arundel County for our retirement and we settled into a house between the B&A Trail and the Severn River in 2011.
After retiring from Northrop Grumman, I went immediately into the LAA 2012-13 Flagship program. I had served on non-profit boards with graduates of Leadership Montgomery and knew I could find a similar program here.
In September 2012, I rode my bike from Severna Park to the LAA opening retreat at the William Paca House with three objectives:
Learn about my new community
Meet diverse people
Find a way to give back.
There was a second bike when I arrived. The oldest member (me) and the youngest member of our group of 30 rode to the retreat.
