Leadership Academy Teams Up with Recycling - 2007

Less is More, Operation Green Thumb, a group of volunteer professionals attending the 2007 Neighborhood Leadership Academy through Leadership Anne Arundel has teamed up with the Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department to adopt a paper recycling program at two city parks. Area communities are encouraged to take their newspapers, office papers, junk mail, etc. (sorry, no cardboard) to the green and gold colored bins located at Truxtun Park (near Collison Baseball field) and Bates Athletic Complex (near Weem Whalen Field). Abitibi Paper Recycling will reuse this paper in products such as newsprint and commercial printing papers. The proceeds from the paper recycling efforts will benefit the Youth Scholarship Fund for the Recreation Department.

For further information, please contact Annapolis Recreation and Parks at 410-263-7958.
